After originally graduating & working in stage design, Chris slipped sideways into professional photography. His extensive archive covers the years from 1964 to 1994. He has been privileged to work upon an incredible range of projects, ranging from iconic theatre productions to architecture, illustration, commerce, industry and even the odd royal occasion or feature movie. He has been commissioned to photograph many famous faces. His work has appeared in print many millions of times . Over the years his images have been selected to be shown at a number of ( mainly London based), exhibitions and in 2013 on London's Southbank his one man show, "Chris Arthur. Scenes from National Life" was seen by 40,000 people. The Independent awarded it their accolade "Everyon's Talking About", The Guardian featured it as "The National Theatre at 50 - in pictures", The Sunday Times also featured several images and "1960's Life At The National Theatre and Around Waterloo" was selected by Londonist amongst many others.
